Treasure Keepers Children’s Centre Inc.

Treasure Keepers Children’s Centre Inc. was founded in 2005 and started in a shared room in Arborgate School. We offered a limited
School Age Program and a Nursery School Program two mornings a week. Since our humble beginnings we have grown to include
two locations in the town of La Broquerie. We offer infant, preschool and school age spaces at both centres for a total of 83 licensed
spaces.
We have a strong focus on child-directed learning that involves observing children’s interests and enhancing the environment and
adding activities to support their learning and exploration. We also focus on nature and the outdoors to encourage children to learn
and respect nature. You will see this through children being outside rain, shine or snow and enjoying the changing seasons. Getting
dirty in mud, sand and water are a focus in the warmer months and throughout the year children explore the many areas of our
town such as walking paths, bridges and park areas.
Our parents and families make us the centre we are today.  We have monthly Parent Board Meetings that all parents are welcome to
attend. This is an opportunity to have input into the centre goals and outcomes. We also have many other ways parents are
encouraged to contribute to their child’s learning environment such as fundraising for children’s supplies, equipment, furniture and
field trips. We are always in need of donated items that you may have at home that you no longer have a use for that can make a big
difference to our program planning as well. We love having parents volunteer in any way possible such as extra help for big events,
visiting as a special guest and sharing something with us such as a pet, occupation or talent.
